Well, I told you I'd leave the credit page image bubbles blank if no one gave me any ideas, and I didn't receive any, so there you have it.  At any rate, sorry this took longer than I said it would.  I was busy with work and then got sick.  Just be glad I'm not as slow as the rest of my family when I give time estimates like that, or this would have taken another week and a half.  As I said before, we probably won't be working on the next chapter until January, as we're all very busy this month.  I think that's about it.  Enjoy this chapter!  Poor, poor Rena..

Chapter 28 update

So I kind of forgot I was supposed to be doing status updates.  That's what I get for spending too much time fapping at work.  This chapter has been delayed partly cause we're lazy motherfuckers (particularly me), and partly because of a misunderstanding based on a lack of communication which was completely my fault.  So my humble apologies for that.  At any rate, I will try to have it up within 72 hours, but my work schedule is kind of crazy today / tomorrow, so it might take slightly longer. 

Chapter 29 also won't be coming until sometime in January because we're all pretty busy in December.  However, I think from now on Xero and I will be cleaning raws for chapters ahead of time, so that should in theory speed up the release time slightly.  Not sure why we haven't been doing that the whole time.  Okay, in all fairness I think Xero has already been doing that a bit.  I guess I just haven't.  That will change.

As always, comments help to motivate me to finish faster, so gimmee some!  They're like... cookies.  Or something.

So from now on on non-release posts I will be typing whatever I feel like typing down here at the bottom.  Why?  Because I can.

Therefore, I give you an awesome (relatively) new song from BMTH.  Yes, I'm a metalfag, deal with it.  Comments disparaging metalcore, metal in general, or BMTH will not be looked upon kindly and will automatically delay the release of chapter 28 by 24 hours.  <3

I also would like you to know that I can now say I have been chased down the street by a drunk gay guy in the middle of the night.  Said drunk gay guy may or may not have also fallen over and broken our standup heater in half and put his hand through a pane of glass last night.  Good times.  That is all.

Sorry this release is so late.  I forgot to mention it on the credit page, but from now on we probably won't be translating the omakes, and if we do, they won't be put in their own chapter.

An apology

So it's been a while since anything happened and that has a couple of reasons. Not the least of which is my troubles with Hattori's handwriting.
Why would Hattori write this chapter's dialogue by hand? Because this particular "batch" is going to be an Omake Batch containing two omake. One found between chapter 24 and 25 and one at the end of the volume.

Does that look like a kanji to you? To me it looks like a black splotch with some squiggles around it. Or a caveman and his pet who just found a radio tower and are throwing a shoe at it.
So yeah, I'm sorry but I can't read Hattori's handwriting very well. At least not in this resolution... That's why this is taking a while.
I suck. I'm sorry.

Wow, Xero is way faster than I am.  That's what I get for being lazy.  He did another great job, so thanks to him and Platypus.  I am kind of mad at him for changing the image on the credit page and making me look lazy and uncreative.  Damn you!  Now I have to come up with something funny for the next chapter..

Before someone complains about the title being slightly different, Xero likes it like that, so that's how it's going to be.  I will be doing it the other way and he will be doing it that way, so it will be going back and forth.

Also, I saw the typo on.. whatever page the typo was on.  It's not worth the effort it takes to fix it, sorry.

The fuck...?  I don't even remember who that chick that taps Rena on the shoulder at the end of the chapter is.  That's what I get for not re-reading what was already out before we started this..

So are these file sizes too big?  I like saving the images relatively large so there's lots of detail, but if the file sizes are too big for people, I can make them smaller.  If no one really says anything I'm just going to leave it how it is.

Rena Chapter 25 status update

For some reason not having a release at the top of the page annoys me.  It looks weird or something.  But I figured people would appreciate an update.  I've been really busy lately so it's been going slightly slow.  Hopefully it should be out in a few days, five max, maybe even less.  Next chapter's script is already being worked on, too.

Give me your opinion on something, internets.  Do you want status updates like these so you know when the next chapter of something will be coming out and such if there's a slight delay?  If so, how frequently?  Or do you just not care and figure it will show up when it shows up?  Thanks.

I'd also like to thank whoever added us to MangaUpdates.  I had been too lazy to do it. 

In other news, I've been lawling at this fake Fall 2010 season chart all night.  The Very Hungry Caterpillar?  Seriously?  It's going to have some people (if they're stupid enough to believe it) freaking out, that's for sure.

Rena chapter 24 release!

This is our first release of Rena!  I'd like to thank Xero XIII for doing a great job his first time editing.  He and I will be switching off chapters from now on, so theoretically it should go a bit faster.  I'm very excited about this project, and I'd like to thank TKTranslate again for giving it to us.

Work on Rena has started, and we hope to have the first (for us) chapter out relatively soon.  Just for future reference, I'll note that now that we're working on something with much shorter chapters and have more editors, theoretically we should be releasing considerably faster.  Key word being theoretically.

Announcement - Otogi no Machi no Rena

Because we have been utterly unable to find any raws for past the first volume of Maid wo Nerae, we have decided to indefinitely switch projects.  Hopefully eventually we'll come across some (if they exist), and at that time we will continue working on Maid wo Nerae!  If you find any, please don't hesitate to email us. 

Last chapter of Maid wo Nerae should be out within the week, and after that we will start work on Otogi no Mach no Rena.  Ideally we will plan to release two chapters a month (as they're much shorter in Rena), but it may end up being a bit slower than that.

Maid wo Nerae! - Chapter 2 release

Our second release is finally here, hope you enjoy it. 

Noncomplatypus was having trouble translating the last few pages because of a lot of technical terms and such, so I told him not to do them.  They're just stuff about sewing, how to make the maid uniform and such.  If anyone really wants to know all that, tell me and I'll make him go back and do them.

PS: For future reference, we tend to do about 10 pages a week, so for Maid wo Nerae it's taken us a little over a month for each chapter.  Should we in the future be doing something with shorter chapters, releases will be more frequent.

Maid Wo Nerae! chapter 1

Well, here's our first release, chapter one of Maid Wo Nerae!  It's been brought to my attention that this isn't just a one volume manga, but it can't be still being released right now, because the author is divorcing his wife (the artist).  If someone could tell me how long this actually is, that'd be great, otherwise I'll figure it out when we're done with the first volume (after the next chapter).  Everywhere I read said it was only one volume, but apparently not.

If you're wondering why the screentones on some pages look weird, I don't know.  The pages with a ton of screentone, they end up looking really weird and are way more noticeable than on the raws.  Those pages messed up my font sizing, too.

There are a few small inconsistencies as far as font goes in the first ten pages or so, mostly outside of bubbles, but nothing too big, and I somehow deleted my .psds of the first ten, so I'm not bothering to fix the things that would take more time to fix.  Sorry.

Help wanted!

I've decided that since there are a few things I'd like to see translated that haven't been or have been on hold for a long time or dropped by their groups, that I'd attempt to start a small scanlation group myself.  I'm a capable editor, but unfortunately my Japanese is the shit. 

Currently looking for help with all positions, in this order of need:
Translator > raw provider > proofreader > editor.

Requirements:

Must be seriously interested in helping and able to produce within the guidelines listed below.  
A limited level of commitment to KHS work is fine, but you MUST be able to produce what you say you can and not quit in the middle of a project.


Translator:
Must be able to translate Japanese to English with good grammar and spelling.

Raw provider:
Must have access to the magazine or tankobon of the series and a scanner they can use and/or be able to scour the internet for raws (using Share or other means).

Proofreader:
Must have good English spelling and grammar, though doesn't necessarily have to be a native speaker.
Right now it's not worth sending the files back and forth when the editor can just do this fairly quickly.  This will be done in addition to being an editor.

Editor:
My standards aren't going to be too extremely high here, but must have access to Photoshop and be capable of basic cleaning and typesetting of manga, namely: adjusting levels, cropping, resizing, a small-medium amount of cloning, splicing two-page spreads together, etc.  Must be decent at copy-editing.

The series we'll be doing will be predominantly seinen-ish manga, but there can always be exceptions, and I'm open to suggestions.
